Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026
1. Operator and scope
This policy covers the iOS and Android app "Baduk" (bundle ID com.osj.baduk) published by Next Studio, an individual developer in the Republic of Korea. Contact: dhalska2@gmail.com.
2. Account and cloud data
A guest account stores server balances, rewards and gameplay records even without provider sign-in. Android supports optional Google sign-in and iOS supports Sign in with Apple. The provider supplies an identifier and email address; Google may also supply a name and profile picture, which can be retained in the authentication account. These identify the account and synchronize purchases and progress across devices.
3. AI games
The AI runs on your device. By default, the moves and result of finished AI games are sent without your name or contact details, under your anonymous account ID, only to calibrate the level ranks of the AI; you can turn this off at any time in Settings ("Share AI games anonymously"). Saved games, solved problems and settings stay on the device unless you sign in and the app syncs them to your account.
4. Online games
When you play online, your nickname, country, rating and the moves and results of your games are stored on the server and shown to opponents and on the leaderboard. You can report and block players; reports (who, why, when) are kept to review rule violations.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Google Play on Android and Apple on iOS. We do not receive card or bank details. For verification, restoration and refunds, we store the product, transaction or purchase-token hash, owner and subscription status/expiry.
6. Ads
Google AdMob shows rewarded ads and, for users without Pro, a short interstitial ad after an AI game (at most once every 3 minutes). The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. AdMob may process device information and approximate location (from IP) for ad delivery, frequency capping and fraud prevention. Rewards are granted only after Google's signed server-side verification.
7. Notifications
Only if you allow notifications, we store a push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and the app language to tell you when a game is found or it is your move, and for the daily study reminder you set. You can turn this off in the app or in your device settings.
8. Crash reports
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash and error reports (device model, OS and app version, technical logs, a random installation ID) to fix problems. No payment information is included.
9. Service providers and location
Supabase (database, sign-in), Apple (Sign in with Apple, payments) and Google (AdMob, Firebase notifications and crash reports) process data under their own privacy policies, and servers may be outside your country. This site is served by GitHub Pages and uses no analytics or ad scripts.
10. Retention and deletion
Settings > Delete Baduk data deletes this game’s server balances, rewards, rating, push devices and progress, then signs you out. Games saved on this device remain. Other games on the same account are not deleted. After game-data deletion, purchase-token hashes, product identifiers and refund/consumption status are retained without their user link to prevent duplicate credit and refund fraud. Other games sharing the authentication account remain unaffected. Finished online moves and results remain in opponents’ game histories without the deleted nickname, country or rating.
11. Your rights, children, changes
Email dhalska2@gmail.com to access, correct or delete your data. The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information. Changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new date.
